Description
This farm, known as “El Retiro de Victor”, is located on the top of the Ayarza region. The area is well known for its beautiful nature and the amazing crater lake, “Laguna Ayarza”, which was created 20,000 years ago by a huge eruption.
Today the region produces some of the finest coffees in Guatemala due to the perfect combination of good altitude, rich volcanic soil, and ideal climatic conditions throughout the year.
The owner, Victor Hugo Martinez, is a very experienced coffee farmer and applies the best farming practices which result in a beautiful, balanced, smooth and rich cup.
The farm is Rainforest Alliance certified, meaning it has standards that are intended to protect the environment and the workers. This certification allows the farmers to have a sustainable farm management system, control costs, gain efficiency, improve crop quality, and maintain the wildlife habitat.
